Dr. Marten’s Unisex Original 20 Eye Boot Customer Review: My favorite things…
I have worn docs for 12 years and I wouldn’t switch if someone paid me. They’re tough to break in (being knee-length and all), but once they fit, they fit perfect. I wear them all year long and never get tired of the support and comfort they bring to my feet. Plus, they are quite sexy
My only complaint is that the laces they come with are not my style, so I always have to buy a set of normal flat laces (which hold a knot better). If you treat them right from the start (seal and polish) they will treat you right for years.
Customer Review: Dr Martens Boots Review
I’m reviewing here both the 1940 and the 9663 models of Dr Martens. I’m riding a motorcycle and have decided to buy some boots to block the winter wind when I ride. I initially bought the 1940 and immediately loved them. They did feel a bit large but I lace them tight and it’s fine. This was my ever first boots and I was so thrilled with the feeling so I went on and bought also the taller 9663 (nearly knee-high); what can I say… awesome boots! The leather of the 9663 is smoother and slicker, and in fact even though they are much taller than the 1940, it seems they weigh less. If you have a budget for one pair, I would say go for the 9663. I find the 1940 more comfortable for motorcycle gear shifting due to the bulky toe box. Overall both models are great and I wear them all the time even when I’m not riding. (Of course, I wear them under my pants and not on-top like some riders do.) As for the online purchasing, I actually bought each pair from a different retailer. The service was good in both cases; I just went with the least expensive retailer. Hope it helps.

Dr. Martens Womens Catwalk Lace Black Shoes From the Manufacturer It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor’s immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460 (1/4/60). To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.
Customer Review: once broken in, the best shoes ever
I bought these because they were the only docs I could find that were dressy enough to wear to work. These shoes killed my feet for a long time, but then after a year or so of occasional wearing, something magical happened and they became my favorite shoes ever. I wore them with everything and they were sooo comfortable. I finally wore them out a few years after that and came to amazon. I’m amazed they still have them so I’m going to have to get another pair! They are just a bit dressier than most docs, and I would actually wear them with everything from jeans to a skirt. I liked how I could wear them with jeans and a t shirt and the shoes would actually dress everything up a bit. Also, I actually wore them as slip-ons and never tied or untied them. Very convenient.
